About Us
Amy Larson Lazier is a Registered Drama Therapist, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Certified Grief Specialist who works in Providence, RI. Amy followed her passion for theatre and healing to become a Registered Drama Therapist, using her knowledge for theatrical practice and pairing it with the study of counseling and clinical work. Amy has spent years of her life searching for the most innovative ways of healing in order to help her clients work through all of life’s traumas and difficulties. Having had her own healing experience through DvT, drama therapy, and clinical mental health counseling, Amy walks with her clients through difficult times of life to find many pathways to heal. Amy asks her clients to be open, honest, and willing while engaging with their therapy in a different way, Amy invites clients to be active and embodied participants. Oftentimes, clients beginning work with drama therapy find the method exciting, and a little scary! It can feel more vulnerable to engage in full bodied therapeutic work, however this is one of the most effective ways to move through a healing process. Drama therapy is appropriate for clients of all ages, as long as they are willing and excited to begin! Amy works with clients as young as four and as old as elderly adults. Whichever ways a client is called to the healing process, Amy hopes to meet them there and start a journey that will help them create lasting change. Some of Amy’s specializations include grief counseling, substance use disorder counseling, work with clients who live with personality disorders, people in varied places of their journeys of motherhood and parenting, and a variety of trauma informed care. When Amy is not practicing therapy, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring parts of Rhode Island, finding fairies in the woods, and cooking homemade meals. Amy hopes that you will find this work fulfilling and life changing.
